Providing a variable living stipend. Become a Project Serve AmeriCorps volunteer to serve as a reading or math tutor in Colorado. Tutoring often can lead to being prepared as a licensed educator. Educator Funding Opportunities
Colorado Educator Loan Forgiveness is focused on licensed rural K-12 educators, admins and SSPs. Up to $5K in loan forgiveness is available to recipients. This stipend is available to K-12 educators pursuing National Board Teacher Certification (NBCT) in rural Colorado school districts. In an effort to address teacher shortages in the state, the Colorado Department of Higher Education is responsible for leading the work to recruit and retain teachers in rural areas. National Board Certification is an opportunity to retain excellent in-service teachers by honoring the hard work that teachers do to become certified and act as leaders in their field. NBCT Stipends: Selected members of a Colorado Rural National Board cohort can receive a $3,975 stiped as they receive support and mentorship from NBCT facilitators. The value of the stipend covers (a) enrolling with the National Board; (b) registering for each of the four components of the NB portfolio; and (c) participating in the Rural National Board Cohort. In partnership with the Colorado Department of Early Childhood (CDEC), the Colorado Department of Higher Education (CDHE) is collaborating with the Colorado Community College System (CCCS) and public institutions of higher education to offer scholarships to early childhood education candidates. Read the FAQ for more information. Funds are available through December 2026.
In partnership with the Colorado Department of Early Childhood, CDHE is offering the 2026 Early Childhood Loan Forgiveness program. This program is open to all professionals who are in the Early Childhood Mental Health Consultant and Home Visiting workforces serving children birth through five. $2,500 awards, paid in ten $250 monthly increments from March-December 2026, will be available to eligible professionals. The application and eligibility information can be found here. Please note that all applications must include an employment verification form which will also be required to be resubmitted halfway through the year to ensure continued eligibility. The application will close on February 20, 2026.
